Trichogramma are tiny insectary grown wasps that attack over 200 pest species including the eggs of codling moth, fruitworms, cane borers, corn earthworms and almost all moth and butterfly eggs that hatch into worm pests. The parasite is effective by killing the pests before they damage the plant.

By suppressing the life cycle of the pests, there is a reduction in the number of eggs, which results in fewer pest insects surviving to adulthood. Trichogramma are shipped while still parasitized in the host egg. They are very small, 5 of them could fit together on the end of a pencil point. Trichograma should be released at the first sign of moths. We recommend a bi-weekly (every two weeks) release as long as the moths are present.

Release Rate: Each package (approximately 5,000 eggs) covers an area up to 170 square feet. For large areas release approximately 40,000 per acre.

APHIDEND is a small (2.5mm) fly-like insect called a gall midge. The adult gall midge finds aphids by their smell and lays its eggs in the aphid colony. When the larvae hatch from the eggs they attack and eat many aphids.

Lacewing Eggs - Aphid Control

The lacewing is a light green colored insect with lustrous eyes. It is an insectary grown predator. The oval shaped pale green eggs are "planted" on foliage at the end of short hair-like filaments. The larvae are grey-green and are known as "aphid lions". Complementing their voracious appetite for aphids, they also consume mealy bugs, red spider mites, thirps, some small worms and many different insect eggs and larva.

The Lacewing larvae feed for about three weeks until they pupate by spinning a white colored cocoon. After about one week they emerge as adults to lay eggs. They are light green with transparent wings and grow to about 3/4 inch in length. The Lacewing are shipped in the egg stage in a container of rice hulls which makes distribution of the tiny eggs easier.

Release Rates: For gardens and greenhouses use approximately 1,000 Lacewing eggs per 500 square feet. For larger fields and orchards we suggest approximately 5,000 Lacewing eggs per acre.

Mealybug is the common name for an unarmored scale insect that exudes a granular white secretion, giving it a mealy appearance. In most cases, an infestation of these destructive bugs makes a terrible mess of your treasured plants. CRYPTOBUG is the mealybug nemesis. This predatory beetle and its larval offspring attack mealybugs in all stages of development.

We recommend the use one CRYPTOBUG adult per square foot to help alleviate most mealybug infestations. They should be sprinkled on the leaves of the infested plants at a rate of 1 CRYPTOBUG adult per square foot. CRYPTOBUG should be distributed in the evening when light levels are low. For CYRPTOBUG to be successful temperatures above 60°F are required.

What Are Mealybugs?Mealybugs cause unsightly damage to many plants in the home, garden, and greenhouse.

This pest has five developmental stages in its life cycle. The females go through the following stages: egg, three nymphal stages, and adult. The males go through the egg stage, two nymphal stages, the false pupa stage, and adult stage. Mealybugs derive their name from the third larval stage onwards, when the female's body is covered with a white wax-like substance in the form of powder, filaments, and projections or plates.

Nymphs and female adults cause plant damage. Adult male mealybugs do not feed. Most mealybug species feed on leaves, but some extract food from roots or form galls. Certain species may also transmit plant viruses.

Fly Parasites are used to attack immature fly pupae, killing them while they are immobile and helpless. Flies have a very simple life cycle with a fast maturity rate. The adult female lays eggs which almost immediately hatch into larvae (maggots). Soon, 3 to 4 days, these evolve into a pupal shell. This is the "resting" stage where they undergo their final transformation into adult flies. This is when the fly parasite does its feeding.

Fly Parasites destroy developing flies by seeking out the pupae, invading the shell and either consuming them or laying eggs inside as part of their own reproductive cycle. The parasites' eggs hatch and eat the developing fly. Emerging from the pupal shells as adults, they repeat their cycle seeking out other fly pupae. Fly Parasites live entirely within the manure, never becoming pests themselves.

Release Rates: Approximately 1,000 fly parasites per 100 square feet. Large animals (horses and cattle) - 1,000 per head; medium animals (pigs and sheep) - 500 per head; poultry - 10 per head.

Aphipar - Aphid Control

APHIPAR is parasitic wasp that lays its egg inside an aphid. In a couple of days, the aphid will die, begin to swell up, and as it swells take on a leathery appearance. Inside this leathery aphid mummy a new parasitic wasp is developing and will soon emerge. Once the new parasitic wasp emerges and it is able to fly, it will sting more aphids, lay more eggs, and continue the cycle.

How To Use APHIPAR:
