Catnip is a durable, easy-to-grow perennial used mainly as a treat for cats. The aroma of the leaves, whether fresh or dried, makes cats kittenish and playful. Plants grow 24-30" tall and produce pale pink or white flower spikes. Plant in mixed flower and herb gardens, or in containers for growing indoors or out.

When and Where to Plant:
Select a location with sun or partial shade and sow seed in the fall or spring as soon as the ground can be worked. Prefers well drained soil. Cultivate soil and enrich with vegetable food. Firm soil over seed.
Care, Harvesting and Storage:
Prefers moderate moisture. Pinch plants back when flower buds appear to increase harvest period. Cut top leaves and flowers and dry. Store in air tight containers. Store extra seeds in a cool dry place. Heat and moisture severely reduce germination.
