For maxiumum success, use the following ratio of materials for your compost:

• 75% of brown material such as: leaves and shredded newspaper
• 25% of a green material to include: kitchen scraps, old flowers, lawn clippings, weeds(avoid seeds),etc.
• Avoid using any animal products, such as meat. Eggshells are fine, and add beneficial minerals.
• Adding weeds with seed heads may encourage the spread of those weeds, so throw those in the trash.
