The tempered steel blade is razor sharp and easily cuts through soil in the flower or vegetable garden as it dislodges weeds and cultivates without disturbing the mulch. The U-shaped blade is sharpened on both edges allowing the hoe to "cut" instead of pushing the soil. Swing motion keeps the blade at the proper angle while continously working the soil forward and backward.
